MORIMOTO, the prestigious Japanese restaurant led by renowned Chef Masaharu Morimoto, is seeking an innovative and dynamic Chef de Cuisine.
This role requires a culinary professional who possesses a modern approach to Japanese cuisine with Western influences. The ideal candidate will be open-minded, personable, and fluent in English, with the ability to interact with guests in an open kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the culinary team in delivering exceptional Japanese cuisine with a contemporary twist.
Develop and execute innovative menus that reflect the fusion of Japanese and Western culinary traditions.
Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene.
Engage with guests in an open kitchen setting, providing a memorable dining experience.
Collaborate with the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef to achieve restaurant goals.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to optimize kitchen operations.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar leadership role in a high-end restaurant.
Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine and culinary techniques, with a modern and creative approach.
Excellent English communication skills; ability to engage with clients effectively.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, open kitchen environment.
Good looking, personable, and approachable demeanor.
Open-minded and adaptable to different cultures and culinary styles.
Exposure to diverse culinary influences.
Preferred Background:
Candidates with Korean, Singaporean, or other Asian backgrounds are welcome.
Previous experience working under a celebrity chef or in a high-profile restaurant is a plus.
